With vs without Microsoft Teams

In short: Switzerland is treated like the EEA: every suite comes with and without Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Teams is also sold on its own. Since 1 November 2025, anyone can buy the suites with Microsoft Teams again. For E3, the version without Microsoft Teams plus a Microsoft Teams licence costs practically the same, so drop Microsoft Teams only for users who don’t need it.

Who it’s for
- No-Teams suites: organisations using another meeting/chat platform (e.g. Zoom, Webex) or buying Microsoft Teams only for a subset of users
- With-Teams suites: most organisations standardising on Microsoft Teams (usually simpler and cheaper than suite + Microsoft Teams add-on)

Where Microsoft’s own pages disagree
- Switzerland isn’t in the EEA, yet Microsoft’s Swiss pages sell “EWR” (EEA) suites without Microsoft Teams. The Swiss price gaps between with and without Microsoft Teams (about CHF 6.9 for enterprise suites, 2.61 for Business, 1.30 for Business Basic) differ from the euro minimums Microsoft committed to the European Commission (EUR 8.00 / 3.00 / 1.50).
